Healthy and prosperous communities
To empower communities for sustainable development through capacity building, advocacy, innovation, and entrepreneurship
Key milestones in our history
In 1996, a group of local professionals came together and identified the need to be registered as an organization to support local initiatives targeting the poor and marginalized communities. Their vision was to bridge a development gap they had recognized, specifically focusing on alleviating poverty in underserved areas.
Successful registration of Support for Tropical Initiatives in Poverty Alleviation on 25th September 1997 by NGOs Coordination Board of Kenya (now Public Benefit Organizations Regulatory Authority) providing a platform need to address the gap in development.
Our first outreach program, serving Single Parents in Migosi Ward, Kisumu East Sub County marked a key milestone in our mission to support marginalized communities and make an immediate impact in their lives
We partnered with local grassroot structures, District Departments, networks, consortiums and likeminded organisations to amplify our outreach programs creating lasting positive change in rural and underserved areas.
We expanded to Somaliland, Puntland and South Central Somalia to strengthen capacities of communities using PICD Concept to increase active participation in decision making in the delivery of social services and ownership of development opportunities at community levels.
Through our outreach and empowerment programs, we impacted over 100,000 people, improving their livelihoods and providing hope for a better future.
Our past performance and the emergent opportunities presenting post COVID pandemic, directs our focus to resilient climate smart innovation and technology as a new area to delve into.
Together, we can create lasting change in our communities.
